Librarians work within all of those bodies. Since anyone can add or delete an OCLC number from a MARC record in their own database, I don't see how this could be the case. News From Dublin, OH: New MARC Records for Items in the Google Books & Hathi Trust Digital Collections Being Added to WorldCat. Recently, Springer finalized an agreement with OCLC: the library will no longer receive any invoices from OCLC for MARC 21 (AACR2) records for Springer eBooks delivered via the WorldCat Collections Sets Services. EBSCO will provide OCLC MARC records for applicable eBooks to libraries free of charge and will ensure continued visibility of these important collections in WorldCat.org.
When a record for a title from Susan Bach Books (OCLC symbol SBACH) is added or matched to WorldCat, a 938 field is added to the MARC record that contains the vendor code BACH. On a related note, the revision of OCLC-MARC Records is currently under way. An updated OCLC-MARC Records will be available in the near future.
